Enthusiasm for laparoscopic operation reached a new high concern. Especially, success in laparoscopic cholecystectomy encourage the other laparoscopic approach as herniorrhaphy, And some groups postulate the efficiency and of laparoscopic
herniorrhaphy
compared with conventional surgery.
Three patients with inguinal hernia were treated by closure of the abdominal opening of the hernia sac, laparoscopically, during laparoscopic herniorrhaphy workshop in Seoul National University Hospital. We performed the tension free
preperitoneal
repair with polypropylene mesh and used the staples for fixation of mesh. The postoperative results were satisfactory: little, pain, early return to life and no significant compliction.
Despites of lack of long term follow-up, the laparoscopic herniorraphy may have some advantages over the present operative management.
